Its interesting history as a British settlement and a thriving port of call over centuries has imbued it with a charming past and enduring presence.

In the process of being designated a World heritage site by UNESCO, it is definitely a city that attracts visitors. Penang boasts of a high standard of living. It is a highly industrialised state, has an excellent skilled workforce and an infrastructure that encompasses physical, economic, educational and social amenities that are among the best in the country.
Alongside other cities in the world, the cost of living has risen in recent years. However, it is still cheaper to live in Penang compared to other close-by cities such as Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.
