ADMISSION AND REGISTRATION

1.

Q: Can I get consultation at IPS Office for the program I want to apply?

A: Our office is closed until 14 April for Movement Control Order. Face-to-face consultation at our office is currently unavailable, but we offer online consultation via Whatsapp at +6046536309 or email at admission_ips@usm.my.

Q: I want to submit application for postgraduate program. Will it be processed during this Movement Control Order?

A: Yes, your application will be processed as usual.

3.

Q: I am Malaysian and I need to urgently register before the Movement Control Order ends. How can I do that?

A: You are allowed to register online. Please refer to the Registration Guidelines that can be downloaded from the application portal.

4.

Q: I am an international student, my PhD offer letter will expire soon and I cannot apply for eVAL at the moment for some personal reasons. Can the validity period of my offer letter be extended? Can I also do the online registration?

A: Offer letter - Yes, subject to the school acceptance. You can officially request to extend the offer letter validity period to us.

A: Online registration - No, only those with eVAL are allowed to proceed for online registration.

Q: I have obtained the eVAL for PhD program, unfortunately I cannot travel to Malaysia due to Movement Control Order. What is the best option for me now?

A: You can be allowed to register through online registration and start your research work with your supervisor. After the restriction is lifted, you can arrange your travel to Malaysia and complete the on-campus registration process. Please refer to the Registration Guidelines that can be downloaded from the application portal.

Q: My eVAL validity period will expire in two (2) months. Can I still register online? If yes, what if the Movement Control Order is extended and my eVAL is expired?

A: Yes, you can register online. If the Movement Control Order is extended, you can liaise with USM Visa Office to facilitate your visa matters.


SUBMISSIONS OF THESIS

1.

Q: What should I do to submit my thesis?

A: Student must submit draft thesis/final copy of thesis in softcopy (pdf file) to IPS at the respective email address below;

  1. Main Campus:
    1. Draft thesis: draft_thesis@usm.my
    2. Final copy of thesis: final_thesis@usm.my
  1. Engineering Campus:
    1.      Draft thesis: draft_thesis_eng@usm.my
    2.      Final copy of thesis: final_thesis_eng@usm.my

    1.    Draft thesis: draft_thesis_kk@usm.my
    2.    Final copy of thesis: final_thesis_kk@usm.my

Q: Can I submit the thesis in word file?

A: NO. Submission must be in PDF file.

3.

Q: Can I submit my thesis when my documentation/form is incomplete?

A: No, all documentation/form must be completed before thesis submission. However, student can check their thesis format with IPS via email before the completion of all documentation/form.

4.

Q: What should I do if I have submitted hardcopy of thesis before the Movement Control Order period?

A: IPS will processed your thesis accordingly.
