CLUSTER OVERVIEW
THE PURE SCIENCES CLUSTER
Pure sciences are the exact science of the development of scientific theories. This research is done at times without consideration of their application, and at other times aims to answer phenomena and possible mechanisms proposed in applied sciences. It is also the counterpart of applied sciences.
Pure sciences are sometimes used to refer specifically to physics and pure mathematics, but chemistry and biology may also be considered as examples. Science can come from many different forms and measures but still, everything we see around outside depends on science to live on.
Pure Sciences is a science depending on deductions from demonstrated truths, such as mathematics or logic, or studied without regard to practical applications.
Centres, Institute and Schools within the Pure Sciences Cluster include:
- Centre for Chemical Biology
- Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies
- School of Biology Sciences
- School of Chemical Sciences
- School of Distance Education
- School of Mathematical Sciences
- School of Physics
