This also means that all hard copies of supporting documents such as evidence of qualifications to satisfy the entry requirements, like English language proficiency (where necessary), academic transcripts and degree scrolls must be sent by postal mail to the Institute of Postgraduate studies. Note that these documents are required for your applications to be evaluated and therefore, must be sent as soon as the online application is made. IPS will acknowledge receipt of your documents and an offer letter will be sent if your application is successful.
When to Apply
Applications for coursework and mixed-mode programmes open once a year, usually before the commencement of the new academic session. Watch out for full page advertisements in local newspapers and links in USM and IPS websites. It is important to check the deadline for the chosen programme. Applications received before the deadlines will be processed promptly, whereas applications received after the deadlines will be processed only if vacancies are available for the selected programme.
Also note that applications for postgraduate study and student registration for research mode programmes are open throughout the year with no closing dates.
