Language Requirement

• The Bahasa Malaysia (LKM 100) course is compulsory for all international students and must be taken and passed prior to graduation.The requirement pass grade is C. Registration for this course can be made at the School of Languages, Literacies and Translation at the university within the candidature period.
  
  
• A TOEFL score of 550 /IELTS Band 6.0/ grade in other equivalent examinations may be required for certain programmes.
  *Candidates are advised not to send the TOEFL scores directly to USM on their own. Please make requests for ETS to send the score to us. USM's institutional TOEFL code is 8900.

• English Language Requirement: A high level of English language proficiency is required by all programmes, to ensure that students derive better benefits from the programmes and syllabus provided. Evidence of English language proficiency must be submitted together with your application forms. For international students, a score of 550 in the TOEFL or IELTS Band 6 is required by almost all study programmes in USM.
